The Importance Of Creativity On Holiday
It’s the summer holidays here in the UK which means it’s the perfect time to pack the suitcases, lather on the sun cream, burn like a vampire and truly relax from it all. Although a holiday can bring with it it’s own set of stresses, getting away from the majority of your regular life responsibilities can provide a welcome bout of rest and relaxation. I find that holidays often bring with them more time, I like to use this to revel in creativity and give myself an essential pause. Here’s how I like to reset and reconnect on holiday …
How do you rest and bring creativity on holiday ??
Regardless of it being my ultimate love, having the opportunity to photograph in a completely new setting and possibly new culture could be the spark needed to play or push your style further. Not only that but you can capture your loved one’s enjoying themselves and record your memories, I always find it’s the best time to experiment and be a bit silly, the beach is perfect - living in the Midlands beaches are not at a premium so any chance to take pictures here is a beaut.
This family are big fans of exploring, we adore finding little nooks and crannies of a new town or village especially discovering those little gems - even better when these gems include food - yum! Getting out in the world can be such a great distraction from the ever-addictive social media phone scroll a lot of us find ourselves in. Going for a wander can allow us to reconnect with our environment and be more mindful of our thoughts and our surroundings.
Having the time to pick up a good book can be hard to pin down especially when balancing work / family / home and everything inbetween but when our holidays hit there seems to be an abundance of moments to take advantage of. A holiday can be the opportune time to be a bit selfish and take the time to turn more than a couple of pages. In fact I got so lost in my book that I had sunburn that marked me for over a year - ouchie!
My last post was all about Finding More Time To Read which you can find here, it may help if you’re longing to get in a couple more pages.
Write Blog Posts
I’m really enjoying creating content for the blog at the moment, especially since I’ve implemented my own plan for the rest of the year. Sometimes there aren’t in enough minutes in the day to finish planning a couple of blog posts in a row but now the holiday has hit it’s the time to dive in. When I have the urge and listen to it I can knock up 3 blog post ideas planned/written, leaving the typing up till a later date. As we’re often without our usual home comforts on holiday there is a freeing element to get away from our usual routines and have the space to actually consider and explore our ideas. They may not work but getting them out can do wonders.
