Maintaining that productive momentum throughout the day can be tough as not every day is the same but this also means it has the ability to throw a surprise curve ball in the mix that we have to deal with. Not every day is a 'work' day but you can still do little activities that keep your creative levels ticking over till you need it. Even some of the most mundane tasks can be surprisingly influential in this respect, here are my everyday tasks that help my inspiration - what are yours?

Something that is so understated but, for me, essential is making your space welcoming and organised. No matter where you live, work or play it's incredibly important to make your area somewhere you want to spend your time. I find making the bed each day not only gives me a boost as it looks so welcoming, especially when I come back later after work and all but jump in for my duvet cave. It also makes me more likely to be productive and stay out of bed as I don't want to disturb the sheets - just yet. Organising your space to how you like it can benefit not only your work output but make things more streamlined and feel free of clutter mentally and physically.

I'll be the first to admit that I have far too many pyjama / lazy days that I'm more sloth than functioning adult but just lately I've really been working hard to physically get dressed even if it's simply leggings and a shirt to potter around the house. Since my SPRING 10X10 STYLE CHALLENGE [read here] I've been making more of an effort in my sartorial choices when I venture outside the house even including those accessories that can make an outfit really sing. Getting ready for the day properly can make you feel more prepared and can have a positive influence on your outlook for the upcoming day and I can always feel the difference in my productivity levels in comparison to a day spent in pjs.

Whether you begin or end your day even using your lunch break, I find the reading a few pages or a chapter can really help you to retreat into your own space. Reading can do wonders for clearing away any cobwebs hanging around be it from sleep, your morning at work or to round off the day. Depending on your book choice it could help you to create and maintain mental links that you could further implement into your work.
