Things have been a little quiet over here of late and although it may not feel like it a lot of things have been happening behind the scenes. This personal catch up has been long over due so I thought I'd share where I've visited, the good and the not so great, what is the recent news with you? What are you most excited about at the minute?
Some of the most exciting news is that the family has said hello to a new addition to the clan, so now I have both a niece and a baby nephew to cuddle and adore. With elder munchkin starting nursery too it's been all change for the dynamic. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of pictures of latest tiny tot but this one of the sleeping beauty gets me every time.
The biggest change just recently has been the fact I have finally secured myself a full time job role, after spending the the majority of the year unemployed and stressing about the issue (which manifested in a variety of ways - none positive) it wasn't always plain sailing and meant I couldn't start making a move on my personal goals. So August and September have been good months for me (which works well as this time of year always reminds me of the start of school and possible fresh beginnings) as I not only progressed well in my 'temp' job they saw my potential and bumped me up to another role within a month. It has welcomed in a fresh, happier positive mentality - apart from trying not to screw up or not to beat myself up when I make a faux pas as I've not been there 2 months so I naturally won't know it all. I admit it's not the most exciting role but it's an office job that pays the bills and still gives me the opportunity to blog plus make steps towards other side ventures. Although 1 thing I do miss is doing what I want every day but now I have a routine I can build on and change to suit my needs.
It's no secret that I hail from a family who love history, country houses and spending time with each other so this Summer marked us making time for more fun adventures and quick witted quips coupled with the trusty National Trust card. We got out of the house, visited and loved places like:
I can't lie to you folks but I have to admit that blogging has been sporadic at best, which is due to a variety of factors, with the new job unfortunately the focus does have to lie there as that is where my main source of income is but that doesn't mean to say I'm giving up blogging it just means if I'm not ready for the next blog post to go up for whatever reason I shouldn't beat myself up if I fail to hit the self imposed deadline. This is still my creative happy place and I want it to remain so which includes trying not to put too much pressure on myself especially as I'm very much in the training stage within my new role - I don't want to bring it home with me. My beloved instagram stories has been left behind too as the majority of my day is spent in work or travelling to and from it making personal daily posts a little tougher, although my numbers are teeny tiny I genuinely like posting to this type of social media. With anything in life it's about balance and finding it between work, blogging, gym, relaxing, eating and sleeping is tough (I have no idea how some talented people do it) but it's a work in progress. It's also been a trying time as my ol' faithful blogging companion of a laptop gave up the ghost and whilst we managed to revive it, it's been hard to complete simple tasks such as posting / scheduling a social media link or sending a single email has been agonisingly slow as the majority of the laptop keyboard doesn't work meaning my beloved electronic baby is looking a bit like a Frankenstein at the minute with different bits of tech plugged in like external keyboard, mouse and speakers to help it hold on till I can finally replace it with a brand spanking new baby to making blogging easier and quicker.
Any good news for you to celebrate? No matter how small
